Get the Interview Every Time by Brenda Greene is an extensive, all-in-one guide to getting a new job. It covers resume and cover letter writing, LinkedIn tips, interviewing, salary negotiation, etc. I think the most valuable tips were on writing and formatting your resume so that it passes screening by recruitment software. This is a fantastic book if you only want to buy one that has everything.”

– Mara Lyons

“Interestingly I was interviewing for a new position and I came across this book, suggested by my sister. I found it useful, informative and well organized. I would recommend to anyone thinking about starting a search for a new position or in the middle of the interviewing process.”

“A very good book providing useful tips for your CV and how best to draft it to get the job you want. Some of the tips were known to me but some were new and I think this comes with age, for example, there are tips in here which I was taught at school but people five years older than me would not have done. This also works in reverse, people younger than me would have been taught things which are in the book so would not need to be told it again. For this reason, this book is good for everyone as it contains tips we've all missed out on.

There are expert tips in here from those who work in the HR departments of the big boy industries, people who see thousands of applications a day. These are the people who know what type of CV stands out as they see them day in, day out. They also know what type of CVs fall under the radar.

I have changed my CV based on the tips in this book and it already reads better. The book brings home the point that a CV is your first impression on a recruiter and so it should say exactly what you want it to. There is also a lot of information on how best to create your CV for online applicant tracking systems, the ones where they ask for your CV but then they also ask you to fill in the details. I have finally found the easy way to do this and this book explains it.

I am usually not one for books that tell you how to do your CV as they don't contain anything new or they are very patronizing. This book is not like that. The author explains how things changed, how they're changing now (with COVID-19), what experts think, how to change your CV and why. The tone is not patronizing, it is helpful in way that assumes that the reader has a brain but just requires help and I like this.”
